- Protagonist Pictures and augenschein Sales are launching sales at the European Film Market on the Berlin-set drama, starring Eric Bana and Kiernan Shipka

Eric Bana and Kiernan Shipka have signed on to writer-director Jordan Scott’s (Cracks) thriller Berlin Nobody, from production companies augenschein Filmproduktion and Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions.
Berlin Nobody is inspired by Nicholas Hogg’s 2015 novel “Tokyo.” Set in the German capital, the film follows American social psychologist Ben Monroe (Bana) as he investigates a local cult connected to a disturbing event. Meanwhile, his rebellious teenage daughter, Mazzy (Shipka), gets involved with a mysterious local boy, who introduces her to the city’s underground party scene. Mazzy finds herself in great danger and Ben will need to race against the clock to save her.
Set to start shooting in September, the film is produced by Scott Free’s Ridley Scott and Michael Pruss alongside augenschein’s Jonas Katzenstein and Maximilian Leo. Georgina Pope will also produce. The film is executive produced by augenschein’s Jonathan Saubach.
Protagonist Pictures is handling worldwide sales alongside augenschein Sales and will introduce Berlin Nobody to buyers at the upcoming European Film Market.
The first film announced under the new deal between German-based augenschein and London-based Protagonist was the elevated survival thriller The Dive, starring Sophie Lowe and Louisa Krause. Produced by augenschein, the two companies are co-representing worldwide rights, including North America, and launched sales at the Cannes virtual market in 2021. The Dive is written and directed by rising German filmmaker Maximilian Erlenwein, known for the crime-thriller Stereo [+see also:

Ridley Scott said, “I’m delighted to be working with our friends and partners at augenschein and Protagonist on this fantastic thriller... Scott Free is committed to bold, original films and filmmaking and Berlin Nobody couldn’t be a better example of that.”
“We are thrilled by Jordan’s vision as it aligns perfectly with our director-driven approach,” said augenschein’s Leo. “Hot off the heels of The Dive, we are thrilled to be launching another project with the Protagonist team,” added Saubach.
“Berlin Nobody is the ultimate package – a tense and taut psychological thriller produced by two companies at the top of their game, helmed by a new and exciting visionary director,” said George Hamilton, Chief Commercial Officer at Protagonist Pictures.
