), which is why Parisian outfit Full House turned to Canada to adapt the cult comic book series The Zombies That Ate the World for the big screen and sought out the filmmaking trio RKSS (Anouk Whissel, Yoann-Karl Whissel and François Simard), who were highly acclaimed for Turbo Kid (discovered in the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and honoured with the Audience Award that same year at Austin’s 2015 SXSW) and Summer of 84 (unveiled in Sundance 2018).

The result is the feature film We Are Zombies, which was shot in Canada back in the spring, is now in post-production and is toplined by Quebecker actors Alexandre Nachi (nominated for the 2019 Best Supporting Role Iris via 1991) and Derek Johns (The Wolf and the Lion [+see also:

), alongside Australian actress Megan Peta Hill.

Written by RKSS based on Jerry Frissen and Guy Davis’ comic book series, the story plunges us into a town crawling with the living dead (albeit non-cannibalistic zombies) where three slackers in the market for easy money are forced to fight rednecks as well as an evil mega corporation in order to save their kidnapped grandmother…

Initiated, developed and produced by Gaël Nouaille, Laurent Baudens and Didar Domehri on behalf of Full House (the joint label of Borsalino Productions and Maneki Films), We Are Zombies is executively co-produced by Canada’s Christal Films. Also co-produced by Sparkling (Humanoïdes Associés’ production arm), We Are Zombies enjoys support from Eurimages, SODEC, Téléfilm Canada and the SOFICA companies Sofitvcine, Cofimage, La Banque Postale Image and Cofinova. International sales are steered by Kinology.

For the record, Borsalino Productions recently produced Centauro by Spanish director Daniel Calparsoro (a remake of Yann Gozlan’s Burn Out [+see also:
