The sixth edition of Kids Kino Industry announces its selection
- The leading pitching and co-production forum for kids' and youth content will be held in a hybrid format from 27-29 September and 27 projects have been selected

Kids Kino Industry, the international co-production forum for films and series aimed at children and youth and one of the most important events in Eastern and Central Europe, is gearing up for its sixth edition running for the second time in hybrid format. The first three days, 27-29 September, will be held in Warsaw and online, while the last day, 30 September, will be fully online. More than 300 industry professionals are expected to attend the event.
This sixth edition of Kids Kino Industry saw an absolute record number of submissions, as 95 projects from 27 countries applied for the pitching sessions of the event, with 26 of them being selected; the winner of the Kids Kino Industry Exchange Award at m:brane will also be featured this year. The selection consists of 15 live-action, 10 animated, 1 mixed-technique, and 1 documentary projects, including 15 films and 12 series. Among them are 7 projects developed as part of the script development workshop Kids Kino Lab.
The projects were selected by the Kids Kino Industry selection committee: Peter Ahlén, senior sales manager, creative producer and director at REinvent (Denmark); Agnieszka Dziedzic, founder and producer at Koi Studio (Poland); Katleen Goossens, producer at Bulletproof Cupid (Belgium); Begoña Esteban, head of international TV Sales and Acquisitions at Pink Parrot Media (Spain); and Mateusz Możdżeń, head of Kids Distribution in the Education Department of the New Horizons Association (Poland).
This year’s target audience again spans preschoolers and school kids to teenagers, while some of the projects are aimed at young adults. The selected titles range from projects based on books, successful web series, or TV specials, dealing with relevant topics such as diversity, stereotypes and prejudice, ecology and climate change, friendship and searching for one’s place in the world. The stories include a hunt for Mayan treasure hidden in a Slovakian castle; discovering what happens to disappearing socks and exploring the mystery behind a suspicious allergy at summer camp with a group of teenagers. Attendees will also be introduced to Felix, a flea raised by rhinos, and two savvy hamsters, who comment on the hardships of life with humour.
