- Special events celebrate the 10th edition of Barcelona´s all-female film review June 12-16
The 10th edition of the International Women´s Film Festival is scheduled to run until June 16 at its new home at Barcelona´s Verdi Cinema. The programme includes films from 16 countries, two retrospectives dedicated to Ulrike Ottinger and Chantal Akerman, both of whom will give the traditional «Lesson on Filmmaking», and several special events. Paidòs has just published a celebratory book that covers the history of this important festival and, amongst other things, contains 299 reviews of the films presented from 1993 to the present day.
It is possible for visitors to see the work of controversial 70s visual artist, Ulrike Ottinger at a exhibition of her photographs entitled Stills. It will be open to the public from 12 June-12 July 2002.
