Mikado launches Dolmen

by

There’s a new company working on the distribution and sales of home videos and DVDs on the Italian scene: it’s called Dolmen, and has been set up from the partnership between Mikado Film (which has a majority share of 75%) and General Video (with 25%). The aim of the new company is to spread quality Italian films, animated cartoons and great classics by foreign authors.

The bosses of the new business are Marco Duradoni (the founder of General Video, who will be the new MD), Luigi Musini (who founded Mikado Film together with Roberto Cicutto, as president) and Francesco Melzi d’Eril (as director general). Dolmen intends to make use of the wide range of Mikado titles, which has always worked on spreading quality films in Italy, and it is aiming to release an average of 10 films a month in the next year. All the films released in cinemas by Mikado, will then be released on the Italian home video market by Dolmen: Ho visto le stelle by Vincenzo Salemme, Agata e la tempesta by Silvio Soldini, Opopomoz by Enzo d’Alò and L’odore del sangue by Mario Martone.
