Playing the part of a cookery teacher, the Spanish actress Carmen Maura is going to back dividing her time between Spain and France. In Entre vivir y soñar, the new film directed by David Menkes and Alfonso Albacete, she plays Ana, an unsatisfied wife and disappointed chef who decides to leave for Paris to search out her first love, a Frenchman whose name she vaguely remembers and who looks a bit like Alain Delon. It’s a hard task but it’s made easier by the help of a florist who accompanies the beautiful dreamer in her search for the ideal man.
The Spanish actress is following on from her success in the starring role of the latest film by Alejandro Agresti, Valentin, which was released in Spanish cinemas at the start of September. Entre vivir y soñar also stars Alex Brendemuhl, Monica Cervera and the French actor Thierry Lhermitte,
The bitter-sweet comedy by the directing duo who have made films like Atomica, I Will Survive and I love you baby, is produced by Rodar & Rodar and shooting will start in Barcelona on November 3. The crew will be staying in the Spanish city for a couple of weeks before heading off to the French capital for a further four weeks of filming.
