Shooting imminent on Lucie Prost’s Les truites
- Finnegan Oldfield, Megan Northam, Florence Loiret-Caille and Andranic Manet all star in the French director’s debut feature, produced by Folle Allure Films and Yukunkun
The first clapperboard is set to slam tomorrow on Les truites, the debut feature film by Lucie Prost who turned heads in Clermont-Ferrand’s national competition last year thanks to Va dans les bois, and back in 2016 via Les rosiers grimpants. Written by the director herself (who was selected for Emergence thanks to this project), the story revolves around 27-year-old engineer Léo who is forced to give up his father’s farming land to a rare metals drilling company, the latter having taken his own life three years previously. But strange phenomena lead Léo to believe these operations are polluting the river he loved as a child. He throws himself into a hallucinatory investigation which confronts him with his grief.
Produced by Lucie Fichot on behalf of Folle Allure Films and by Nelson Ghrénassia for Yukunkun Productions, Les truites has been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, and benefits from an advance on receipts and selective digital visual effects support from the CNC, as well as backing from the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Normandy regions. Filming will last upwards of six weeks, with Thomas Favel heading up photography. The film’s release in French cinemas will be steered by Paname Distribution.
