Eurimages announces the festivals which will present its awards

Following calls for proposals to select the co-production markets which will present the Co-production Development Awards, the initiatives which will present the New Eurimages Lab Awards and the sponsorship partners for the period 2024 to 2026, the Eurimages Board of Management decided, on the basis of the recommendations made by a panel of external experts from the film industry and the proposals of the Promotion Working Group, to select the festivals which will present its awards

Nine co-production markets have selected for the presentation of the Eurimages Co-production Development Awards in the period, for an amount of €20,000 each: Baltic Event (Estonia), Berlinale Co-Production Market (Germany), Cartoon Movie (France), Cinekid (The Netherlands), CineLink (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) Eastern Promises (Czech Republic), Les Arcs Industry Village (France), Torino Film Lab (Italy) and Visions du Réel Pitching Forum (Switzerland).

Two initiatives will present the new Eurimages Lab Awards, each consisting of one Innovation Award of €20,000 and one Outreach Award of €30,000 in the period, namely CPH:DOX (Denmark) and International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) (The Netherlands). 

Eurimages has also approved seven sponsorship proposals for a total budget of €50,500 per year for the period, namely with CICAE (European Arthouse Cinema Day) (€10,000), European Film Promotion (Producers on the Move in Cannes/Europe! Umbrella and Reception in Toronto) (€10,000), Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Montréal (Canada) (€5,000), FIDLab Marseille (France) (€10,000), IDFA (The Netherlands) (€10,000), Locarno – Alliance 4 Development (Switzerland) – (€2,500) and ReAnimania (Armenia) (€3,000).

Finally, the Gender Equality and Diversity Working Group and the Board of Management of the fund have decided to approve seven initiatives to receive Gender Equality Sponsorships over the period 2024 to 2026, for a total amount of €49,950: Le Lab – "Femmes de Cinéma" (France) (€5,000), Locarno Pro – Step In (Switzerland) (€5,000), Mifa Annecy (France) (€5,000), Olhares Do Mediterraneo – Women’s Film Festival (Portugal) (€9,950), Pop Up Film Residency (Slovakia) (€10,000), Sisterhood of Young Animation Auteurs (Romania) (€5,000), and Woman in Fan – Sitges Foundation (Spain) (€10,000). The fund has also selected three festivals to host the annual Audentia Award: Norwegian International Film Festival Haugesund (Norway) in 2024, Cork International Film Festival (Ireland) in 2025 and International Crime and Punishment Film Festival (Turkey) in 2026.
