Written by the director, the story homes in on Joseph, one of the last remaining shepherds on the Corsican coastline, whose land the underworld have their eyes on for a real estate project. He decides not to yield to them, but when a man who’s sent to intimidate him - the boss’s son, no less – ends up half-dead, Joseph becomes the target of a merciless hunt at the height of summer stretching from the south to the north of the island. As the days go by, the legend surrounding Joseph - fuelled by his niece Vannina - gains momentum throughout the entire island, for the shepherd embodies a resistance everyone believed to be impossible…

Le Mohican is produced by Diane Jassem and Céline Chapdaniel on behalf of Koro Films (who also steered the director’s first feature) in co-production with Atelier de production, Les Films Velvet and Novoprod. Pre-purchased by Canal+, Ciné+ and C8, the feature film also enjoys support from the Gan Film Foundation, the SOFICA companies La Banque Postale Image and Cofimage, and from the Region of Corsica where the film will be shot over the course of six weeks with Jeanne Lapoirie (nominated for the César in her speciality in 2003, 2014 and 2018) heading up photography. The film’s music will be composed by Rone (awarded a César for Night Ride and nominated in 2022 for Paris, 13th District [+see also:
