The new South International Series Festival will offer 45 titles in the official programme for the public of this first edition, which will be held in Cádiz from 6 October until 12 October, and will be divided into five sections: Official Fiction, Official Non-Fiction (documentaries), Jewels (where a second chance will be given to films already broadcast but unknown to the public), In the South (works shot in Andalusia) and Panorama (special screenings out of competition). This is in addition to presentations, previews and screenings, totalling more than sixty series.

In the Official Fiction section there are Spanish series including La Ley del Mar, which explores the true story of the first European boat to rescue sub-Saharan immigrants adrift in the Mediterranean, starring Luis Tosar and Blanca Portillo, directed by Alberto Ruiz Rojo; Galgos [+see also:

, directed by Félix Viscarret and Nely Reguera, which narrates the business and family drama of the Somarriba family, with a choral cast headed by Adriana Ozores, Óscar Martínez, Patricia López Arnaiz and María Pedraza; Serrines, madera de actor, a comedy starring Antonio Resines, who plays a popular actor trying to find the role that will finally get him noticed by critics; Beguinas, inspired by the communities of independent women who, since the 13th century, defended an alternative way of life, starring Jon González and Amaia Aberasturi, directed by Rómulo Aguillaume and Claudia Pinto; and the third season of Wrong Side of the Tracks (Entrevías).

Also premiering in Cádiz will be Nolly (UK), created by Russell T. Davies, which explores the rise and fall of Noele Gordon, an actress and presenter who became one of the most famous women in the UK, played by Helena Bonham-Carter, directed by Peter Hoar (The Last of Us); Of Money and Blood [+see also:

(France), based on the book of the same name by Fabrice Arfi about one of the biggest scandals in the recent history of his country, the millionaire carbon tax fraud; Power Play [+see also:

(Norway), awarded at Cannes for Best Series and Best Musical Composition, a comedy set in the 1970s that plays with the conventions of period television, docudrama and political satire; and Anima Gemella (Italy), a story of love, loss and mystery starring Daniele Liotti and Chiara Mastalli, directed by Francesco Miccichè

And in the Panorama section, two Spanish series: La red púrpura, directed by Paco Cabezas, who adapts the second novel of the same name from Carmen Mola’s saga; and the second season of Ser o no ser [+see also:

, which portrays the diverse realities of young teenagers in this new instalment.
