Nordisk Film Prize to TV writers
by Annika Pham
During the celebrations for its 97th birthday, Nordisk Film (part of Scandinavian group Egmont International Holding) gave its Dkr 97,000 Nordisk Film Award to TV writers and co-producers Peter and Stig Thorsboe.
The two brothers who have had an influence on Danish TV drama for over a decade with their hit programmes Taxi, Unit One and The Village, are the first TV professionals to receive the award. Previous winners included film directors Lars von Trier (1996), Søren Kragh-Jacobsen (1999) and Erik Clausen (2000). But the prize has also been won by new talents, before their careers took off: Christoffer Boe (2001), Brigitte Hald (1998) and Lotte Svensen (1997). Last year’s winner was Danish actor, Mogens Rukov.
The award ceremony took place outside Copenhagen, in one of the world’s oldest film stages, Valby’s Stage 2.
