Danish cinema in Paris
Paris is to host a «Week of Danish Cinema» from 2- July. Organised by Maison du Danemark, the Balzac Cinema, the Danish Film Institute of Paris and French producer and distributor Les films du Losange, the programme includes a selection of recent Danish classics like Thomas Vinterberg´s Festen, Lone Scherfig´s Italian for Beginners and a number of films by Lars Van Trier, a founder-member of Dogme 95, as well as interesting new talents like Per Fly´s The Bench scheduled to open the event. Six filmed theses by as many students of Denmark´s premiere FilmSchool will close the event that includes a three-day seminarabout contemporary Danish filmmaking.
