Written by the director and loosely based on Léonor de Recondo’s novel Amours, the story takes us back to 1908. Victoire and André are married but their love isn’t reciprocal and they’re struggling to have children. Feeling neglected, André takes advantage of their young domestic, Céleste. The maid is terrified and feels unable to reject him. His abusive behaviour continues until Céleste becomes pregnant and tries to conceal it…

Tout recommencera is produced by Michel Saint-Jean on behalf of Diaphana Films and notably enjoys support in the form of an advance on receipts from the CNC and backing from the Normandy region, which is where the 24-day film shoot is due to unfold until 4 July. The film’s release in French cinemas in entrusted to Diaphana Distribution.
