- The fourth edition of the event expands with new panels, keynotes and key industry figures as it gears up for its celebration from 1-4 October in Madrid
The Iberseries & Platino Industria event (1-4 October), spearheaded by EGEDA and the Fundación Secuoya, in collaboration with FIPCA, and supported by various institutions such as the Community of Madrid, the Madrid City Council and ICEX Spain Export and Investments, is set to establish itself as the must-attend event for the Ibero-American audiovisual industry.
This year, new panels and professionals are joining the programme of conferences, keynotes and spotlights, strengthening the focus on connecting executives, creatives, producers, distributors, and other key industry players who speak both Spanish and Portuguese. Among the notable names crossing the Atlantic to participate are executives from major platforms, television networks and production companies.
One of the most highly anticipated moments will be the business keynote by TelevisaUnivision, featuring Ignacio “Nacho” Meyer, president of Univision Networks Group (USA). Meyer will address the changes in the Hispanic television market, focusing on audience consumption trends, segmented commercialisation and live content experiences that aim to reflect popular culture across multiple platforms.
The Spotlight programme continues to grow with the addition of Fremantle, one of the world's entertainment giants. Manuel Martí (head of Scripted Development at Fremantle Mexico), Olivia Sleiter (head of Production at Fremantle Italy) and José Skaf (head of Drama at Fremantle Spain) will explore how creativity, technology and new business models are transforming the global content creation landscape in Europe and Latin America.
Among the most eagerly awaited conferences is “Brazil, Land of Creative Audiovisual Opportunities”, where Brazilian producers will discuss opportunities for international collaboration and the transition from film to television. Additionally, in the conference “Changing Football Stories”, LALIGA and its collaborators will explain their strategy to attract new audiences through an innovative approach to football, blending reality and fiction.
The US Day, focused on Hispanic content in the USA, will feature the participation of Georgina González, VP of NBC Universal, who will emphasise the importance of this space for finding innovative solutions within the Ibero-American creative community.
With over 1,000 accredited professionals from 45 countries, this edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria will bring together representatives from Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, the USA, Chile and many more. The event promises days filled with networking opportunities, learning and collaboration among the key players of the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking audiovisual sector.
