Short film nights

After being held in Lugano, Geneva, Bienne, Sion, Bellinzona, Bex and Neuchâtel, the 6th edition of Short Nights will be taking place in Lausanne on November 21 and in La Chaux-de-Fonds on November 28. The travelling show will continue next year in German Switzerland, from April to June, starting off in Zurich.
The event is organised by the Swiss Agency for Short Films and it presents 11 programmes, from 20:00 until 05:00. The short films being shown come from Quebec, Britain (chosen by the British Council), together with a selection of French short films produced by Canal+, works from Switzerland, an improvised film made by 8 Swiss and Canadian directors and there is also a programme of American shorts, thanks to the series Bikini Bandits by Steven Grasse. The films being shown include Viande by the Swiss director Bruno Deville, Peau de chagrin by Blanquet & Olive, and Le bonheur ne tient qu’à un film based on a story by Charles Bukowski and directed by Jonathan Hodgson. “Nights” also gives audiences the chance to discover films like Quatre d’entre elles a sketch film made in 1968 by 4 Swiss filmmakers Claude Champion, Francis Reusser, Jacques Sandoz and Yves Yersin. There’s also the animation series Panique au village, made by the Belgiums Stéphane Aubier and Vincent Patar.
