Pierce crowned at La Roche-sur-Yon
- Nelicia Low’s debut feature wins the Grand Prize; 100,000,000,000,000 by Virgil Vernier and Bogancloch by Ben Rivers share the Nouvelles Vagues award

The International Competition jury of the 15th La Roche-sur-Yon International Film Festival gave the 2024 Grand Prize (accompanied by an acquisition worth a minimum of 15,000 euros from French distributor Ciné+) to Pierce [+see also:

Winner of the Best Directing Award in Karlovy Vary, this co-production between Singapore, Taiwan and Poland follows the dark and mysterious Han, who comes out of jail after having caused the death of an adversary during a fencing match and claims his innocence, but only Jie, his young brother full of goodness and admiration, seems willing to believe him. The film is sold internationally by American outfit Magnify.
