Nessie Junior is the first development project from new sales agent Epsilon Film, set to kick off pre-sales at the upcoming American Film Market (AFM) in Las Vegas (5-10 November). The news was first reported by Variety.

The project is a high-end, CGI-animated flick based on the tale of the Loch Ness Monster, the mythical creature that has enchanted sightseers in the Scottish Highlands ever since it was first, allegedly, spotted. The beautiful lake of Loch Ness, overlooked by the ruins of Urquhart Castle, has become a highly popular holiday destination.

In detail, the film features a local fisherman, Mylo, who claims to have been attacked by the creature and who runs a Loch Ness Monster tourist show on the banks of the loch. His teenage daughter, Kellina, doesn’t believe his stories, nor does she believe in any of the myths of Loch Ness… But that all changes when she meets an actual, young Nessie named Fin.

“And so begins a tale of friendship and caution, loyalty and betrayal, fun and breathtaking adventure as the pair team up to uncover the sea creature’s family secrets hidden in the water’s depths,” Epsilon Film says in a statement.

Nessie Junior is being produced by Matthias Drescher (Shifting the Blame [+see also:

At the AFM, Epsilon Film will be presenting an initial teaser trailer to potential buyers and partners. The Munich-based company is a joint venture between Alice von Einem and Julia Weber, two former Global Screen executives, and the Beta Group.
