During a meeting of Nordic Culture ministers held in Oslo, it has been agreed that a Nordic Film Prize should awarded on an annual basis.

The initiative was launched last year by the Nordic Council, which decided to reward Aki Kaurismaki’s The Man without a Past [+see also:

film profile] with a Skr 430,000 cash prize, as part of its 50th Jubilee celebrations.
At the moment it’s still not known how much the permanent sum attached to the Nordic Film Prize will be.
