More than 200 audiovisual professionals, from producers, sales agents and broadcasters to distributors, are expected in Turin to listen to project presentations during pitch sessions and meet the participants of the 2024 TFL programme, thanks to one-on-one moments and some networking (read the news). This 17th edition is enriched by the presentation of projects from the ComedyLab and the SeriesLab, two programmes involved with the Meeting Event for the first time: four comedy feature projects developed during the first edition of ComedyLab from 89 candidates, and nine original television series projects chosen from 143 candidates for the SeriesLab.

The cornerstone of the gathering remains the long-standing programmes of the TorinoFilmLab: FeatureLab with its 10 projects, 7 of which are first films and 3 are second ones at the advanced development stage, selected from 175 candidates; ScriptLab and its 16 projects, 8 of which are debuts, 5 second films, and 3 more mature, chosen from 612 applications, as well as 2 projects close to shooting which received the TFL Co-Production Funds (€50,000). In total, there are 41 projects presented by 74 participants, more than half of which are professional women, coming from 35 countries.

In addition, to create connections between the Italian and the international industries, the TorinoFilmLab offers a new edition of the Boost IT Lab workshop, in which national and foreign projects work together with co-production models in order to develop their own potential on the global scale, and which culminates with a project presentation (there are 8 in total) at the TFL Italy event hosted by Torino Film Industry on 21 November.

The 17th Meeting Event will conclude on the evening of 23 November with the awards ceremony, during which a series of prizes will be given out to projects, worth a total of €376,000 thanks in part to international partners, in order to support their development, production and sustainability. Beyond the traditional prizes, the SeriesLab Development Award (€20,000 for one or two series projects) and the ComedyLab Award (€5,000) will also be handed out for the first time, by two dedicated juries.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that six titles on which the TorinoFilmLab has worked between 2019 and 2024 have been selected for the 42nd Torino Film Festival, 3 of which in competitive sections: Holy Rosita [+see also:
