(USA/UK, DoP Yorick Le Saux), the 32nd edition of the Camerimage Film Festival will unspool 16-23 November in the Polish city of Torún. Officially the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography Camerimage, the Polish festival recognises the best in cinematographic art around the world and bestows its awards upon each film’s cinematographer, rather than its director. Actress and producer Cate Blanchett will lead the main competition jury as president, with the rest of the jury completed by cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle, cinematographer and documentary filmmaker Jolanta Dylewska, producer and columnist Anna Higgs, costume designer Sandy Powell, cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto and cinematographer Łukasz Żal.

Blending acclaimed arthouse works and popular cinema, the festival’s Main Competition features, in addition to Blitz, The Girl with the Needle [+see also:

The Polish festival also features several other competition sections, including for directorial debuts, documentary features, documentary shorts, film and art school works, television series and music videos. Rounding out the selection is a retrospective on US cinematographer Edward (Ed) Lachman, a frequent collaborator of Todd Haynes and Ulrich Seidl, and a retrospective of Italian-US director and cinematographer Gianfranco Rosi.
