Païni for video fund

The name of the new president heading up the Commission for selective help to Video Editions, who is elected on a two-year mandate by the director general of the Centre National de la Cinématographie (CNC), David Kessler, has been announced. He is Dominique Païni, who is currently the director in charge of cultural development at the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris and who is already a director of the French Film Library.

In addition, the CNC has nominated the other 12 members who will sit on the Commission, together with the two representatives from the Ministries of Culture and Economy as well as a delegate form the National Audiovisual Institute (INA). The members are: the directors Lucas Belvaux and Nicolas Philibert(To Be and To Have ), the video publishers Vivien Aslanian (Pathé Vidéo), Claire Dornoy (MK2), Renaud Delourme (Editions Montparnasse) and Jean-Christophe Loménède (TF1 Vidéo), the producer, distributor and publisher Carole Scotta (Haut et Court), the producer and publisher Denis Freyd (Archipel),the audiovisual producer Michelle Podroznik, (Telfrance), the distributor Rodolphe Buet (FNAC) and the journalists Frédéric Bonnaud and Jean Douchet.
The aim of the Commission is to encourage video editions with a cultural nature, through subsidies awarded by the CNC, after authorisation has been granted by the Commission.
