 in theatres has indeed acquired the film’s international rights, excluding those for Italy, and will thus maintain the rights for North America, Latin America, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, the Benelux, Spain, Turkey, India, Australia and New Zealand. Plans for a theatrical release will be announced in the next few months, while The Match Factory will be selling the rights for the other territories.

Paolo Sorrentino has announced his new project, titled La grazia (lit. “The Grace”), the shoot for which will begin in Italy in spring 2025.

Meanwhile, his latest film Parthenope [+see also:

has taken the top spot for the highest-grossing Italian film of 2024 at the national box office, raking in more than €7.4 million (more than The Great Beauty [+see also:

), is continuing its festival run around the world (which now stands at number 23, if we count the upcoming Palm Springs in January 2025) and has been sold by French sales agent Pathé in virtually every territory on the globe (Pathé will distribute Parthenope in France on 8 January, while it will go on general release in the USA on 7 February, courtesy of A24).

The star of the new film will be Toni Servillo, who is collaborating with the helmer for the seventh time. They first worked together on One Man Up [+see also:

The movie, written by Sorrentino himself, will be a love story, but this is all we know about the plot, which is being kept strictly under wraps.

La grazia is being produced by Annamaria Morelli for The Apartment, a Fremantle group company, and by Sorrentino’s own firm, Numero 10, in conjunction with PiperFilm, which will distribute it in Italy, as it is doing at present with Parthenope.
