Having kicked off on 4 November, filming on Laurent dans le vent - the first feature-length movie by Léo Couture, Mattéo Eustachon and Anton Balekdjian - is due to wrap on 14 December. Written by the three directors in collaboration with Julie Lecoustre (Zero Fucks Given [+see also:

film profile]), the story revolves around Laurent who’s 28 and who’s going round in circles. He takes refuge in a deserted, Alpine ski resort in mid-season and makes the acquaintance of those who live in the area, forging unexpected bonds with them. By the time winter comes, Laurent has changed and he couldn’t imagine leaving his new friends….

Laurent dans le vent is produced by Joséphine Mourlaque and Antoine Salomé on behalf of Mabel Films (who previously helmed Dying in Ibiza), in co-production with Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinéma. Equally backed by the CNC (through an advance on receipts), the Sud region and the SOFICA companies Cinémage and Cinéventure, the feature film is shooting over a 31-day period in the Hautes-Alpes region and in Lyon, with Mattéo Eustachon heading up photography. The movie’s release in French cinemas will be steered by Arizona Distribution.

For the record, Mabel Films will be shooting Zoé Cauwet’s first feature film, Corps étranger (working title), in Burkina-Faso from September 2025.
