Nordisk for Håfström

The director of Evil - the Swedish entry for the 2004 Oscar nominations for Best Foreign Film - is to direct a new feature film called Strandvaskeren (“Washed Ashore”).
The project by Mikael Håfström, which started shooting last month, is a co-production between Greta Film and Nordisk Film.
Strandvaskeren is described as a suspense film, in the same genre as the US film, I Know What You Did Last Summer. It is expected to be ready for a Swedish release in September 2004. The cast includes Rebecka Hemse, Jesper Salén, Kjell Bergqvist and Anders Ekborg.
Håfström’s Evil, which was also supported by Nordisk Film, has so far sold over 700,000 tickets in Sweden and is being released this month in Norway and Finland. The Danish premiere is set for early 2004.
