Franka’s double life

MAKING OF

The premiere of Blueprint, the new film starring Franka Potente, will be held in Münster, on December 8. It is directed by Rolf Schübel and based on the book by Charlotte Kerner. The German actress plays two parts in the film, one is the pianist Iris, who is suffering from multiple sclerosis, and her other role is the pianist’s daughter, Siri, who is torn between the desire to emulate her mother and the sensation of being her “clone”. Most of the film was shot in Münster, a city where Potente has strong links, as she was born there and started her acting career at the city’s Metropolis theatre. The premiere of the film will be shown as part of a gala evening, and special guests include the German minister of culture, Christine Weiss. The event will also be open to the population of Münster, as a way of thanking the citizens for their collaboration during the shooting of the film. The film is being released in German cinemas on January 1, 2004, distributed by Ottfilm.
