The 4th edition of AJD Industry Days, the industry platform of the AJB DOC - Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival is now accepting submissions.
Filmmakers and producers from Southeast Europe, the Caucasus, and the MENA region, or those working on topics related to these areas, can submit their projects until 31 May via the official portal.
The event, set to take place from 13 to 15 September in Sarajevo, offers a key opportunity for documentary professionals to present their works to Al Jazeera Media Network decision-makers and other leading industry figures. Selected projects will compete for financial support and industry backing, including opportunities for co-production, broadcast, distribution, and sales.
AJD Industry Days is seeking submissions in three main categories: Main Pitch, open to projects at all stages of development and production from independent filmmakers and production companies; Rough Cut, designed for projects in their final production phase, aiming for broadcast on Al Jazeera or other international platforms; and Balkans Pitch, Reserved for projects with strong potential for co-production with Al Jazeera Balkans, Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, and other broadcasters.
Participants will be invited to Sarajevo to present their projects to an international panel of broadcasters and industry professionals who will determine the winners. In past editions, a prize fund of approximately 100,000 USD was allocated by Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, Al Jazeera Balkans, and other partners, with a similar budget expected for the 2025 edition.
AJD Industry Days runs alongside the Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival, which has become a vital platform for TV documentaries in the region and beyond. The festival will take place from 12 to 16 September, offering additional networking and visibility opportunities for selected filmmakers.
