Filming for Blue, the directorial debut by Eleonora Puglia, is currently under way in the Marche region of Italy. The film stars Rocco Siffredi, Alexia Cozzi, Shaen Barletta and Victor Vitale.

Blue follows Luce, a young student who faces difficult choices while navigating the deceptive world of the internet, particularly erotic websites and social media. The film addresses the dangers of the digital realm and the illusions it creates, tackling a highly relevant social issue.

Cozzi, known for the series Love Dilemma and Studio Battaglia, plays the character of Luce. She commented, “Unfortunately, I’ve realised that there are many ‘Luces’ out there – young women around the world who lock themselves in their rooms and engage with these platforms through their phones, believing they are not doing anything dangerous."

Siffredi plays Luce's father. Known for his extensive career in adult films, having starred in around 1,400 titles, Siffredi retired from the porn industry in 2022, but continues to direct and produce adult content. Beyond adult films, he has appeared in various arthouse productions, including Catherine Breillat’s Romance and Anatomy of Hell [+see also:

, where he was portrayed by Alessandro Borghi.

Director Eleonora Puglia shared her vision for the film: “The message I want to convey with Blue is not judgemental. It aims to inform, especially the many young women who, often due to naivety and misinformation, enter these platforms believing they are content creators or influencers, when in reality, they are engaging in pornography, with all the risks that come with it.”

Filming began earlier this month during the Offida Carnival, a centuries-old tradition whose symbolism, masks and atmosphere of transgression intertwine with the complexities of the online world depicted in the film. Production will last five weeks, primarily taking place in the Marche region, with filming continuing in the cities of Porto San Giorgio and Fermo.

Blue is being produced by Gabria Cipullo and Roberto Cipullo for their Rome-based company Camaleo, in co-production with Poland’s Agresywna Banda. The film is supported by the Marche region, the Marche Cultura Foundation, the Marche Film Commission and Lazio Cinema International, and will be distributed in Italy and internationally by PiperFilm.
