Leverage Point Entertainment launches, aiming to embed systemic sustainability in film and TV production
- The services of the London- and Budapest-based venture will range from carbon budgeting and decarbonisation strategies to script consulting and sustainable storytelling

A new boutique consultancy aiming to reframe the industry’s approach to sustainability has officially launched. Leverage Point Entertainment (LPE), founded by sustainability expert and former BAFTA albert manager Zsófia Szemerédy, is based in London and Budapest, and operates across the UK and several Central and Eastern European countries. With a focus on systemic change, the company positions itself as a creative and strategic partner for productions and companies seeking to embed sustainability throughout the filmmaking process.
The agency supports film, high-end TV, commercial and entertainment projects from development through to post-production and beyond. LPE’s services range from carbon budgeting and decarbonisation strategies to script consulting and sustainable storytelling. “What sets LPE apart is our holistic approach,” Szemerédy tells Cineuropa. “We're not just focusing on isolated segments – like productions or training – but looking at the entire ecosystem. In my view, every stakeholder in the industry has their own role to play, and every decision made carries weight.”
Szemerédy brings a wealth of industry experience to the initiative, having worked on high-profile titles such as Moon Knight, Poor Things [+see also:

film profile] and Dune: Prophecy. “I’ve worked across various segments of the film industry since my early twenties – exhibition, festivals, sales, distribution and development. I pursued this path intentionally to gain a holistic understanding of the industry,” she explains. “At first, it felt like I had to choose between film and my passion for sustainability. But in recent years, there’s been a truly inspiring shift. Climate narratives and sustainable productions are taking centre stage in industry conversations.”
LPE’s model is both collaborative and customisable. “It really depends on the client’s needs – that’s always our starting point,” Szemerédy notes. “We begin by identifying both short- and long-term goals. Our services can range from supporting slate decarbonisation to advising on a specific project. For a particular series, for example, we might begin by providing a script-based sustainability report and offering feedback at the script stage. From there, we deliver tailored training, embed sustainability practices into the production process and assist with reporting, so productions can take the learnings and improve further next time.”
Szemerédy also emphasises the importance of weaving sustainability into the narratives themselves. “There are many films and TV shows that incorporate sustainability and climate themes in subtle, seamless ways – and that’s what I love the most,” she says. “It’s not just about environmental sustainability; it includes social sustainability, too. The creative possibilities are endless.”
The launch reflects a growing appetite across Europe for environmentally responsible content and operations. At its inception, LPE is already active in Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic, with plans to expand globally on a bespoke basis.
Ultimately, Szemerédy sees the initiative as a way to empower creative professionals and companies to act with intention and confidence. “No one wakes up thinking they want to have a carbon-intensive day and harm the planet, but people are juggling countless pressures. My aim is to provide them with the knowledge and the toolkit they need to enable them to make the right choices quickly and confidently,” she concludes.
