Maren Ade to chair the Short Film Palme d’Or and La Cinef jury
- The German filmmaker will preside over the jury tasked with judging the 11 short films in competition and the 16 works in the selection of film-school titles on the Croisette in May

The identities of the 11 short films (two of which are animated) that will be duking it out for the Palme d’Or at the 78th Cannes Film Festival (13-24 May) as well as the 16 movies from film schools in the La Cinef selection (comprising 13 fictions and three animations) have just been unveiled.
The jury will be chaired by German director and producer Maren Ade (whom we have to thank for The Forest for the Trees, Special Jury Prize in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at Sundance in 2003; Everyone Else [+see also:
