This week, as part of the Marché du Film in Cannes, the selected projects for the second edition of the ECAM Forum, a co-production forum to be held in Madrid from 10 to 13 June, have been announced. The presentation ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Ignasi Camós, Director General of the ICAA; Alba Wystraëte, Manager of ECAM (Film and Audiovisual School of the Community of Madrid); Nacho Carballo, Audiovisual Industry Advisor for the Community of Madrid; and Raúl Torquemada, Director of the Madrid Film Office.

The selection of feature film projects brings together more than twenty proposals from both emerging and established talents across the international audiovisual landscape. The participation of experienced independent production companies alongside new directorial voices positions this edition as a key platform for promoting innovative, diverse and internationally recognised cinema. “One of our obsessions has been to look outward, to encourage the international circulation of talent. In that sense, the ECAM Forum was the next logical step: to create a major event that would attract leading international figures to Madrid,” said Alba Wystraëte.

The Last Push section focuses on films currently in the editing or post-production stage, aiming to support their entry onto the international circuit. A €15,000 prize will be awarded by an independent jury. Among the eight projects selected are new works by Mihai Mincan (whose To the North [+see also:

), Grecia Barbieri and Gonzalo Benavente Secco, and Claudia Estrada Tarascó.

The Films to Come section is dedicated to feature film projects in the development stage that are seeking financing, co-production opportunities and international exposure. Among the fifteen selected projects are the upcoming works of Francisca Alegría (selected at Sundance with The Cow Who Sang a Song Into the Future [+see also:

In addition to presenting at Cannes the series and short film projects selected for participation (listed below), ECAM has announced and signed two new strategic agreements with key Latin American audiovisual agencies: One with Proimágenes Colombia, aimed at creating meeting spaces between stakeholders in the Colombian and Spanish audiovisual sectors; and another with ACAU – Film and Audiovisual Agency of Uruguay, through which Uruguayan producers will attend the next edition of the ECAM Forum as international guest producers in the Films to Come section. This dual alliance further strengthens ECAM’s position as an international benchmark in film education and professional networking within the audiovisual sector, reinforcing its role as a bridge between Europe and Latin America.
