Mediawan Kids & Family adapts Claynosaurz for TV
- A cult hit born in the NFT space, the brand is stepping into traditional entertainment as Mediawan transforms the digital IP into a new animated comedy series aimed at young audiences

Mediawan Kids & Family, the youth division of the European studio group behind Plan B and See-Saw Films, is joining forces with Claynosaurz Inc to co-produce a new animated series based on the viral, NFT-born brand Claynosaurz. The show will be made up of 39 seven-minute episodes and is set to target audiences aged 6-12. The project is part of Mediawan’s strategy to nurture transmedia IPs with a strong digital footprint.
The series will follow four quirky dinosaur friends navigating life on a mysterious island, blending slapstick humour with offbeat storytelling. Jesse Cleverly, co-founder of Wildseed Studios (a Mediawan label based in Bristol), will serve as showrunner. Speaking to Variety, the outlet that first reported the news, Mediawan Kids & Family president Julien Borde said, “I think it’s the very first time that a digital collectible brand has been expanded into a TV series, so it’s a milestone – not just for Mediawan, but also for the industry.”
The Claynosaurz brand, launched in 2021 by Nicholas Cabana, Dan Cabral and Daniel Jervis, boasts over 450 million views and 200 million impressions across digital platforms. The project emerged from a collective of VFX artists with credits at studios such as Sony Pictures, Animal Logic and Framestore. Its irreverent short-form content has cultivated a robust online community of over half a million fans.
Cabana said the team initially focused on character-building and direct fan engagement before entering long-form storytelling. “We flipped the traditional model,” he noted, adding, “Community-driven development isn’t just different; it’s necessary.” He also praised Mediawan for immediately grasping the brand’s tone and humour.
The show will premiere on YouTube, with broader licensing plans afoot for traditional broadcasters and platforms. Production is led by Nicolas Fisch for Mediawan and Katell France at Method Animation, alongside Cabana for Claynosaurz.
This latest move continues Mediawan’s foray into innovative IPs and follows its recent presence in Cannes with Sylvain Chomet’s A Magnificent Life [+see also:
