Written by the director himself, the film tells the story of how , in the 24 hours leading up to his birthday, Hugo (played by Arón Piper), a young man lost between immaturity and the vertigo of growing up, faces imminent eviction and a deep sense of abandonment. With the help of his best friend (Marco Cáceres), he sets off on a race against time to save his home and, unknowingly, take the first step into adulthood.

According to Luc Knowles, "I wanted to make a feature film about young people caught between big dreams and impossible realities. Hugo 24 is a story about the struggle to make ends meet, the fear of abandonment, and about the exact moment when you decide to stop running away. The Tetuán neighbourhood is the heartbeat of the story. Madrid is itself a character: this city of lights, concrete and noise, where sometimes everything seems lost... until you find a way out.”

And Arón Piper says of his character in this adventure: “Hugo has many layers. What drew me most to this project and the character was the journey he undergoes in just 24 hours, and how the city reflects everything inside him. As both an actor and a person, this story touches me deeply.”

Hugo 24 is produced by Nacho San Pablo for Clapham Films, Gianfranco Piccirillo for RV Films, Carlos Arnaiz for Dadá Films, Diego Betancor for Lágrima Films, Marina Sconocchini for  NonStop Studios and Enrique Gonzalez Kuhn for Caramel Films, the company that will also manage distribution in Spain.
