) and starring Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones). The news was first reported by Variety. The series, currently in post-production, marks Amazon MGM Studios’ first scripted original out of Denmark.

Shot in and around Copenhagen, Snake Killer draws inspiration from real events and focuses on the infamous Uropatruljen narcotics patrol, considered the most notorious police unit in Danish history. Asbæk plays Brian, a charismatic officer known for his extreme and often unlawful methods. When a young female informant is murdered, a group of officers launches an all-out war against a criminal network.

The cast also features Lars Ranthe (Another Round [+see also:

) and Ali Al-Bayate (The Sommerdahl Murders).

The four-part show is being co-produced with Nordisk Film. It is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video in early 2026 in the Nordic region. Each episode will run at a length of approximately 60 minutes. International sales are being handled directly by Amazon MGM Studios.

“We’re thrilled to bring Snake Killer to Prime Video as our first Danish scripted series – an exciting milestone for our Nordic slate,” said Emilia Widstrand, head of Nordic Originals for Amazon MGM Studios. “Partnering with the brilliant team at Nordisk Film, our stellar cast and visionary director has been incredible. We can’t wait for viewers to experience this gripping crime-thriller that perfectly showcases Danish world-class storytelling,” added Widstrand, who stressed that Snake Killer underscores Prime Video’s “growing commitment to investing in authentic, high-quality local productions across the Nordics”.
