Coruña Estudio Inmersivo virtual soundstage introduced at San Sebastián
- The state-of-the-art production hub managed by Pedralonga Estudios aims to become a focal point for European audiovisual shoots

Pedralonga Estudios has marked, within the framework of the 73rd San Sebastián International Film Festival, the launch and start of operations of Coruña Estudio Inmersivo (CEI), the best-equipped virtual soundstage in Spain and a leader of the new generation of immersive shoots in Europe. The event, hosted by the president of Pedralonga Estudios, Fernanda Tabarés, was attended by Valentín González Formoso, president of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, and Alfonso Blanco, president of the Clúster Audiovisual Galego (CLAG).
In his remarks, González Formoso described CEI as “an infrastructure that connects two key sectors for Galicia’s future: audiovisual and technology,” noting that it will strengthen the region’s ability to attract national and international productions. He also highlighted the public-private collaboration model that made this cutting-edge production centre possible: co-financed by the Provincial Council of A Coruña and the Government of Spain through the EU NextGeneration funds, CEI is managed by Pedralonga Estudios S.L., a company set up in 2024 by CLAG, the University of A Coruña and ten leading Galician companies.
Representing the Galician audiovisual sector, Blanco stated that the boost provided by this pioneering project will benefit the entire national industry of shoots and production services: “Pedralonga Estudios and CEI make up a perfect cocktail that places Galicia as an ideal shooting destination,” offering other attractions such as more than 30 years of experience, production companies with international standing, top-tier technical and artistic talent, unparalleled landscape diversity, and public support that facilitates co-production and encourages the attraction of shoots.
For her part, the president of Pedralonga Estudios detailed CEI’s competitive advantages: “it boasts a total area of over 2,000 m², including a 750 m² virtual stage with a led wall measuring 28 x 6 metres and a 1.9 pixel pitch,” technical resources that position the centre at the forefront of virtual production in Europe. This infrastructure will be expanded over the course of 2026 with two additional stages of 2,500 and 2,000 m² currently under construction, conceived to serve audiovisual production end-to-end with a full range of ancillary facilities. “Our shared goal is to offer the latest technology in the service of creativity and the industry at competitive prices,” she concluded.
Pedralonga Estudios is the integrated audiovisual production centre located in the Cidade das TIC (A Coruña), with more than 7,500 m² of cutting-edge facilities: a pioneering space that integrates immersive technologies (augmented reality, virtual reality and extended reality) such as large-format 4K LED screens, enabling the creation of hyper-realistic, interactive environments that are revolutionising audiovisual production.
