The 2026 programmes will feature a mix of residential workshops and online modules throughout the year, culminating in November with the 19th TFL Meeting Event, the co-production market where selected projects are pitched to producers, sales agents and other key industry players.
ScriptLab & Story Editing is aimed at filmmakers working on fiction features in the early stages of writing, fostering a dynamic and collaborative development process. Alongside it, ScriptLab Story Editing trains aspiring story editors through hands-on work on selected projects. The 2026 edition, organised with the Tartu Film Fund and the Estonian Film Institute, will host 16 projects and four story editors. The deadline is 3 November 2025.
FeatureLab targets creative teams (writer/director and producer) working on their first or second feature at an advanced stage of development. Starting in June 2026, it consists of two residential workshops and one online session, open to all genres, including creative documentaries and animated films. The deadline is 2 December 2025.
Now in its third edition, organised with the VAF – Flanders Audiovisual Fund and the Polish Film Institute, ComedyLab is entirely devoted to comedy, pairing filmmakers with comedy writers and performers to develop international projects. After a preliminary workshop in March, eight projects will be selected to take part in three residential workshops and online sessions. The deadline is 12 December 2025.
Finally, SeriesLab & Story Editing focuses on developing original fiction TV series with market potential, alongside a training strand for aspiring story editors. The programme, run with the Polish Film Institute, will begin in June and will include three residential workshops and online modules. The deadline is 17 December 2025.
With a strong track record linking training to festival and market success, TFL reaffirms its role as one of Europe’s most influential incubators for new voices in cinema and television storytelling.
