Grant for Margarethe von Trotta

At a meeting held on December 3, FFF Bayern has agreed funding worth €3 million to give to 17 new projects, with a total of €1,750,000 for investment in cinematographic production and distribution. The most important projects to receive support include the new films by Margarethe von Trotta and Marc Rothemund, who is making his debut in the cinema, after his experience as a TV director.

There’s a contribution of €700,000 for Ich bin die Andere, another female portrait by the German director of Rosenstrasse [+see also:

. This time she is looking at the problems of schizophrenia and the film will be produced by Clasart Film.

Rothemund’s film is called Sophie Scholl, di letzten Tage and it will be produced by Neue Goldkind Film. It’s about the young woman who was part of the German resistance movement, "Rosa bianca", who was condemned to death by the Nazis in 1943 at the tender age of 22. FFF Bayern will be investing €636,000 in the project.
