The English language debut of Jack (Joakim) Ersgård starring Matthew Settle (Band of Brothers) and Fay Masterson (Eyes Wide Shut), is to be produced by Sonet Film.

The ambitious film called , has a budget of Skr 40m (€4.5m). It is currently shooting between Sweden and the US (Los Angeles and New York). This is Ersgård’s second feature, following Besökarna (“The Visitors”) shot in 1988. The director who just spent 12 years in Hollywood, has written the script with his brothers, Jesper and Patrick, who also acts in the film.

“It’s an action thriller about a writer who gets involved in a complicated murder case”, said Ersgård. Rancid will be released by Sonet Film in the autumn 2004.
