EXCLUSIVE: Anaïs Volpé shoots Sans cesse mon chéri
- Camille Lou, Dali Benssalah, Camille Rutherford and Irène Jacob are cast in a Unité production sold by Lucky Number
On 20 October, Anaïs Volpé began shooting Sans cesse mon chéri, her third feature film after Heis (Chroniques) (which was screened in the Bright Future section at the IFFR) and The Braves (unveiled at the Directors' Fortnight).
The cast includes Camille Lou (star of the series The Bonfire of Destiny, Women at War and Cat’s Eyes), Dali Benssalah (who made a big impression in Athena, and who we will see next year in Le Lièvre) and Camille Rutherford (nominated for the 2021 César Award for Most Promising Actress for Felicità and very impressive in Jane Austen Wrecked My Life). Also joining the cast are Irène Jacob (Best Actress Award at Cannes in 1991 for The Double Life of Véronique, recently seen in Meeting with Pol Pot and coming to theatres next February in Maigret et le mort amoureux), Alexandre Desane (Frantz Fanon), Lola Lafon and David Talbot (the mini-series Class Act).
Written by the director, the script centres on Will and Rita who help a woman give birth in a pizzeria. It is the first time they have met. They fall irresistibly in love with each other...
Sans cesse mon chéri is produced by Caroline Nataf for Unité, and co-produced by France 3 Cinéma. Pre-bought by Netflix and France Télévisions, the feature also benefits from advance funding from the CNC and Sofica Cinémage and SofiTVCiné. The seven weeks of filming will end on 5 December and will take place in Paris and the Ile-de-France region, with Inès Tabarin as director of photography. International sales are being handled by Lucky Number and distribution in France will be handled by Zinc.
