Le Groupe Ouest’s call for projects for its Annual Selection is now open
- The deadline to apply for the successful writing coaching residency programme designed for French-speaking screenwriters and filmmakers is 20 November

The Ice Tower by Lucile Hadzihalilovic, The Girl in the Snow by Louise Hémon and also The Girls from Above by Bérangère McNeese: the projects selected by the Le Groupe Ouest Annual Selection (read the news about the 2025 selection) have been the subject of much discussion over the past year and are gearing up for a successful 2026 season, with Sylvère Petit's La Baleine (read the article) and Lila Pinell's Shana currently in post-production, among others.
Each year, the Annual Selection, Le Groupe Ouest's writing coaching programme (led by Charlotte Le Vallégan and Antoine Le Bos), supports eight fiction projects (live action and animation) by French-speaking screenwriters and filmmakers. The lucky ones who are selected will enjoy three group work sessions from March to December 2026 at a seaside residence in Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages (Finistère), supervised by screenwriting consultants.
Previous selected projects include Ghost Trailer by Jonathan Millet, Little Jaffna by Lawrence Valin, Junkyard Dog by Jean-Baptiste Durand, The Dreamer by Anaïs Tellenne, Savages by Claude Barras, Close by Lukas Dhont, All To Play For by Delphine Deloget, A Tale of Love and Desire by Leyla Bouzid, Skies of Lebanon by Chloé Mazlo as well as Cuties by Maïmouna Doucouré.
The call for projects for the 2026 Annual Selection is open until 20 November 2025. Click here.
