An intense and original love story between two souls who seem diametrically opposed, grappling with time, fear and the desire not to lose themselves is the focus of Sabrina Iannucci’s first fiction feature film, 7 anniversari, which started filming on 20 October in Cuneo and is due to wrap on 22 November.

For years, Iannucci has devoted herself to documentaries after studying with Claire Simon in Palermo and then with Leonardo Di Costanzo in Naples. She also directed the short films Non può essere sempre estate in 2019 and Oltre il tempo, l'amore in 2023, among other works, and has helmed several behind-the-scenes shorts since 2022, following in the wake of directors such as Giuseppe Tornatore and Liliana Cavani.

Written by Alessandra De Bari, Carlo Muscio and Dario Baldi, the screenplay tells the story of Teo (Zurzolo), a creative rider with an aversion to conventions, and Emma (Porcaroli), an established voice actress who’s only rational on the surface. A casual encounter brings them together, but Emma’s fears make their relationship a challenge. In order to mitigate them, Teo suggests an unusual pact: a relationship which expires after seven years and a way for them to love without fearing it will end. But when their time begins to run out, their feelings complicate everything. Will they manage to rewrite their destiny before their seventh anniversary?

The film’s photography comes courtesy of Vito Frangione, set design is entrusted to Morena Trevisol and costumes are the works of Nicoletta Taranta.

7 anniversari is being produced by Filippo and Francesco Montalto on behalf of Andromeda Film alongside Gianni Russo and Gabriele Costa for Piano B Produzioni, with support from the Piemonte Film Tv Fund and the Film Commission Torino Piemonte.
