With just over a month to go, the fifth NEM Zagreb has lifted the lid on a refreshed two-day programme that intertwines creativity, AI and marketing, setting the tone for conversations about where the video and TV industries go next.

The market, unspooling from 8-9 December, will field a mix of traditional and new-generation topics across six headline panels: “CEE Producers: Reflections on the Last Five Years”; “Leaders on AI: Opportunities and Challenges”; “Video Ads: Linear TV vs TikTok, Meta and YouTube on TV”; “Original TV Series Formats and Adaptations”; “The Vertical Revolution: Micro-drama”; and “Creatives, It’s Not Only Hard in Your Country!”

Master classes and Q&As will anchor the event’s focus in practice: Sami Arpa (Largo.ai) leads “AI as the New Creative Partner in Video Creation”; neuromarketing specialist Dalibor Šumiga offers “Inception: The Art of Planting Ideas”; composer John Altman unpacks music for brands in “A Band for a Brand”; Kenton Allen (Big Talk Studios) discusses producing the Emmy-nominated Ludwig; and Dariusz Jablonski delves into “GLINA: A New Chapter. The Return of a Legend in a New Era”. A Q&A with A1 International Business and UniqCast features Darko Robič and Elena Petrova.

Several presentations track how broadcast is converging with platforms and how AI is reshaping workflows: Aleksandar Ašković explains “From Broadcast to Algorithm: Why Every TV Station Needs a YouTube Strategy”; Guy Bisson (Ampere Analysis) outlines “Distribution Strategies When TV Meets YouTube”; Harmonics presents “Revolutionising Streaming: AI & New Monetisation Innovations”; EIT Culture & Creativity addresses “Europe’s Creative Sovereignty in the Age of AI”; Lühr-Martin Lemkau (Slick Strategy) compares Netflix engagement across CEE in “Slick & Quick”; Croatian showcases arrive via HDNP and SPID; and stYpe’s Josip Čajić presents “Real-time Virtual Production by stYpe.”

On the networking front, day one opens with a welcome drink by A1 International Business and a morning coffee break, while day two includes a Croatian Audiovisual Centre-sponsored lunch and the traditional Christmas party, this year hosted by Pickbox.

The complete agenda is available on the event’s website.
