The Swedish Film Institute (SFI) has selected Swedish actor Andreas Wilson for Shooting Star 2004, the European Film Promotion initiative that takes place during the Berlin Film Festival.
The 22-year old Wilson plays the leading role in Mikael Håfström’s Evil, currently playing in more than 90 Swedish cinemas. The film has already registered over 800,000 admissions since its September 24th release and is set to be one of Sweden’s most successful local films of the year.
Evil is Wilson’s first feature film appearance. He has appeared several times on stage in Stockholm, notably in The Mouse Trap, in the theatrical version of Lars Norén’s Details and in the musical Ernst Olsson- a Rock Story.
Previous Swedish Shooting Stars participants include Torkel Petersson, Tuva Novotny, Johan Widerberg and Alexandra Rapaport.
