Marion Cotillard leading the cast of Nicole Garcia’s Milo
- Théodore Pellerin, Artus, Laure Calamy, Alexis Manenti, Anne Brochet, Éric Elmosnino and Charles Berling also star in this feature produced by Trésor Films and overseen by StudioCanal

Nicole Garcia has been shooting her tenth feature film, Milo since 27 October. For the record, the director has previously been selected to compete three times in Cannes (via The Adversary in 2002, Charlie Says in 2006 and From the Land of the Moon in 2016) and twice in Venice (with Place Vendôme in 1998 and Lovers in 2020).
Heading up the cast are Marion Cotillard (awarded the 2008 Oscar for Best Actress and nominated again in 2015, the winner of two trophies and a five-time nominee at the Césars, including in 2017 for From the Land of the Moon and in 2024 for Little Girl Blue, well received this year in The Ice Tower and notably due to appear in Roma Elastica and Karma next year) and rising Canadian talent Théodore Pellerin (rewarded in this year’s Cannes Critics’ Week for his performance in Nino, and also acclaimed in Lurker and the series Becoming Karl Lagerfeld, among other works). Likewise in on the action are Artus (A Little Something Extra, Block Pass, Dog 51), Laure Calamy (winner of the 2021 Best Actress César and Lumière awards for My Donkey, My Lover and I, César-nominated in the same category in 2022 and 2023, on strong form this year in The Party’s Over! and hitting cinemas in March in C’est quoi l’amour?), Alexis Manenti, Anne Brochet, Éric Elmosnino (awarded the 2011 Best Actor César via Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life, nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 2015 and recently seen in The World Upside Down) and Charles Berling (nominated for the Best Actor César four times between 1997 and 2001, and recently seen in the American series New Look).
Written by Nicole Garcia and her usual partner in crime Jacques Fieschi (a five-time César nominee in his field who triumphed in 2022 for his adaptation of Lost Illusions), the screenplay centres on Alice who moves to a small town in the south of France where she gets a job as a waitress in a cafeteria. She seems unattached. But she is there for Milo, a young man who works in a garage nearby and seems oblivious to her existence. Without telling him who she is, Alice wants to approach him, talk to him, get to know him... Recognise him.
Milo is being produced by Alain Attal for Les Productions du Trésor in co-production with France 3 Cinéma, StudioCanal (who will also oversee distribution in France and international sales), Marcel Films and the Belgian outfit Artémis Production. The film, whose shoot will last eight weeks, has already been boarded by Canal+, Ciné+ OCS and France Télévisions.
For the record, Trésor Films are also overseeing Jeanne Herry’s Another Day in production and Marion Le Corroller’s co-production Species which is currently in post-production.
