The film tells of the encounter between Martín and Tere several months after they break up. She has something very important to tell him – he is the father of the baby she is expecting – and they decide to meet up in a bar in the city where they live in order to talk. Inside, the erstwhile couple join the bar’s owners: two Pakistani women, who are mother and daughter. Suddenly, a van crashes into the front of the building and two men armed with knives burst in. From that moment on, the four hostages wage a desperate battle for survival, and a life-or-death confrontation begins between two sides marked by their beliefs, their traditions, their egos and, in the end, by the very destiny that governs the course of their lives.

For José Ángel Bohollo, the story is founded on grand human themes, as it’s “conceived as a psychological chamber thriller – with the action confined to a single setting – and the pressures of the kidnapping open the door to reflections on revenge, lack of affection, discrimination, institutional corruption and the yearning to belong”.

Radicales is a production by Eduardo Campoy for Secuoya Studios together with Juan and Pedro J Poveda for Twin Freaks Studio, plus A Contracorriente Films, which will also be entrusted with the movie’s Spanish distribution.
