Sweden’s m:brane youth film pitch forum unveils its project line-up

Malmö, Sweden, is the place and 9-12 March the dates for the m:brane forum for “smart content for savvy young audiences” to celebrate its 20th edition. During two jam-packed days, 11 and 12 March, 26 projects will be presented at the pitching sessions, 20 of them fiction and six of them documentary projects, a genre especially cultivated here – also seen in the REALYOUNG workshop for projects in early development, where two additional projects have been selected.

In all, 16 countries are represented, ten of the projects are animated, and the prospective audience age spans from two to 35 years and beyond, focusing on pre-school to young-adult content. The m:brane HQ reports a strong response from producers and creators, and a vivid dialogue within the selection committee.

The 2026 selection promises a carefully curated mix of fiction, animation, live-action, comedy, drama, horror, science-based storytelling, contemporary narratives and family-orientated projects. The list includes a wide range of formats, including TV series, feature films, shorts and multiplatform works. The selection is topped off by the documentary projects that will be further developed through m:brane’s long-standing documentary workshop scheme, REALYOUNG, reinforcing the event’s continued commitment to documentary storytelling for young audiences.

Once again, the line-up includes a lively slate from Denmark, last year’s focus country, continuing the collaboration and exchange established in 2025.

Together, the projects reflect the depth and creative ambition of today’s audiovisual landscape and align with m:brane’s vision of fostering bold, intelligent and challenging content for smart young audiences.

All 26 of the main projects will be pitched during the m:brane forum on Wednesday 11 March and Thursday 12 March in Malmö.
