12/02/2026 - The 29th edition of the Spanish event, held from 6 to 15 March, will present a total of 263 titles

The Malaga Film Festival will showcase the diversity of Spanish cinema in its 29th edition (6-15 March), with a programme featuring 263 audiovisual works across all its sections, alongside a wide variety of activities and events under the motto “Culture is encounter and Malaga, the best moment.”

The Official Selection will include 22 films (twelve Spanish and ten Latin American). In addition to the Spanish titles previously announced — Calle Málaga [+see also:

The film festival will also present Zonazine, its commitment to new cinema, now in its 23rd year. The section will screen the Spanish films La carn by Joan Porcel; Cuántica rave by Paco L Campano; and Somos la jungla by Gwai Lou (in co-production with Malaysia). It will also feature the Peruvian production Aquella sombra desvanecía, directed by Samuel Urbina; Los nadadores (Argentina/Mexico/United States) by Sol Iglesias SK; Oca (Mexico/Argentina/Spain) by Karla Badillo; and Casi desierto (Brazil/United States) by José Eduardo Belmonte.

Finally, the official non-competitive Series section will include: Acoustic Home by Alexis Morante; Cochinas by Andrea Jaurrieta, Laura M Campos and Núria Gago; Entre tierras 2 by Humberto Miró, Salvador García and David Montoya; La nena by Paco Cabezas; Millennial mal by Lorena Iglesias and Andrea Jaurrieta; Por cien millones by Nacho G Velilla (read more); and Si es martes, es asesinato by Salvador Calvo and Abigail Schaaff.
