The Slurb is back

by

The strange little creature called “the Slurb”, a cheeky but good hearted character, which first appeared in the children’s series written by Paul Maar, is back. When the Slurb first appeared in German cinemas it was a huge hit with the young film audience, and now it’s back on the big screen in a new adventure, out just in time for the Christmas season.

The new film is called Slurb in Danger and is directed by the Dutchman Ben Verbong and produced by Collina Film with support from FFF Bayern and BFB Förderung, and it is being distributed by Costantin Verleih. The story follows up the turbulent adventures of this anarchic protagonist, who mainly reflects the more child-like impulses of the adults with whom the Slurb comes into contact.

"It’s not easy to make the sequel to a successful film" said the co-author and producer, Ulrich Limmer "because everything has to change, and at the same time, it has to stay the same". The key elements being retained are the location in Bamberg and the presence of the actors Ulrich Noethen, Christine Urspruch and Eva Mattes, but this time there will also be new features introduced in respect Maar’s book, to add more rhythm to the narrative and to give the film more action.
