The CICAE has opened the call for applications for the 2026 edition of its Arthouse Cinema Training (ACT), set to take place in Berlin from 24-30 August. Widely regarded as the leading international training programme dedicated to independent and arthouse cinema, the initiative will gather 50 participants from across the globe for an intensive, week-long residential experience.
Hosted at Data Space in Berlin’s Mitte district, the programme offers a combination of workshops, lectures, masterclasses and industry visits, providing practical tools for cinema professionals, from programming and curation to management and audience development. It is aimed at exhibitors, festival professionals, distributors and those planning to launch or transition to an arthouse cinema model.
With over 1,100 participants from 65 countries since its launch in 2003, ACT has established itself as a key platform for knowledge exchange and international networking within the arthouse sector.
The participation fee of €1,785 (including VAT; €1,500 without VAT) covers classes, training materials, hotel accommodation near the venue including breakfast, and lunches during the week.
The deadline to apply is 29 April, and applications can be submitted via this link.
