Panorama, the first titles

For the Berlinale 2004, following the initial announcements on the competition, we have also glimpsed those from the “Panorama” category, which has always offered a worldwide view of cinematography over the last twelve months. Manager Wieland Speck has in fact announced that it will be made up of 18 full-length films, 16 “Panorama Specials”, 10 documentaries, and 20 short subjects, all of which will be making their world or European debut. This program long-awaited events includes Amomymous by the well-known independent cineast Todd Verow, A day on the planet by the Japanese filmmaker Isao Yukisada (who was already present in the 2002 edition with Go) and the latest opus of German director Bruce La Bruce, a true gay icon, The Raspberry Reich. Germany is also represented by Was nütz die Liebe in Gedanken (Come to think of it, what good is love?) by Achim von Borries, starring the award-winning actor of Good-bye, Lenin!, Daniel Brühl, and The stratosphere girl by M.X.Ober, a co-production of Switzerland, France, Great Britain, Italy, and the Netherlands. As always, the audience will have the honor of nominating the Best Film on Februarly 15th, the last day of the festival.
