Shooting imminent on Vincent Mariette’s Le Trésor
- Vincent Macaigne, Julia Piaton, Nicolas Maury, David Ayala and Suzanne de Baecque are leading the cast of a Domino Films production for UGC
The first clapperboard is set to slam in early April on Le Trésor, Vincent Mariette’s third feature film after Fool Circle (nominated for the 2015 Lumière for Best First Film) and Savage (2019).
Leading the cast are Vincent Macaigne (nominated for the 2022 and 2023 Best Actor Césars, recently impressive in Muganga and Cicadas, and soon to be seen in La Poupée and C’est quoi l’amour ?, as well as in After by Kirill Serebrennikov and Le journal d’une femme de chambre by Radu Jude) and Julia Piaton (nominated for 2021’s Most Promising Actress César thanks to Love Affair(s), who shone last year in Colours of Time and will soon appear in Les caprices de l’Enfant Roi and Il faut brûler maman). Also joining the cast are Nicolas Maury (nominated for the 2021 Best Actor Lumière via My Best Part and known for his role in the Call My Agent series), David Ayala (nominated for 2025’s Best Supporting Actor César via Misericordia), Suzanne de Baecque (recently acclaimed in Drifting Laurent and Summer Beats, and currently hitting French cinemas in Hugo) and Alexandre Desrousseaux (The Path of Excellence).
Written by the director, the script centres on Jean and Sarah. Bankrupted after buying a guesthouse which has wrecked their relationship, they think they’ve found a solution when they learn about a fabulous treasure which is said to be in the area. They set off determined to find it, even if it means falling in love again.
Le Trésor is produced by Stéphanie Bermann and Alexis Dulguerian for Domino Films, in co-production with UGC (who will release the film in cinemas and who’ve also acquired international sales rights). Pre-purchased by Ciné+ OCS, the feature film also enjoys support from the Brittany region where shooting will unfold between 7 April and 10 May (primarily in Rennes and Saint-Malo), with Brice Pancot (Magnetic Beats) as director of photography.
